Special Education Teacher – Intensive Communication Program (FMLA Leave)
Dates: August 14^th – November 1^st
Location: Crestwood, IL
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday – Friday
Pay: $50 and up
Hours: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a middle school Intensive Communication Program serving students in grades 6-8. This is an FMLA leave position supporting students with Autism, Down syndrome, intellectual disabilities, and functional learning needs within a highly supportive classroom environment.
Position Details

• Caseload: no more than 13 students
• 2 classroom paraprofessionals assigned
• Dedicated SLP and School Social Worker support
• K-8 district setting

Program Highlights

• Functional curriculum using Unique Learning System
• Focus on emotional regulation, social language, reading, math, and life skills
• Students participate in specials with general education peers
• Collaborative classroom model with push-in related services
• Strong administrative and team support

Qualifications

• Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement required
• Experience supporting students with communication and functional learning needs preferred
• Strong collaboration and classroom management skills
