Special Education Teacher – Full-Time
Location: Streamwood, IL
Schedule: Monday through Friday
Staff Hours: 8:00am – 3:00pm
Student Hours: 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM
Student Early Dismissal Wednesdays
Pay: $48 and up
Weekly PD/Planning Time: Wednesdays 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM

This is a growing therapeutic day school serving students with Autism and moderate to severe needs in a highly supportive, team-based environment. This is more than a teaching position—it’s an opportunity to help students build communication, independence, emotional regulation, and life skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
This K–8 program provides individualized support in a collaborative setting where educators and clinicians work closely together every day. AAC devices, social-emotional learning, adaptive instruction, and sensory supports are integrated into the school culture, allowing staff to be creative, student-centered, and impactful.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful
- Strong Special Education instructional skills
- Calm, flexible, and student-centered approach
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
- Experience with Autism, AAC, SEL, and/or medically complex students preferred
What to Expect on Your First Day
You’ll be welcomed by leadership, meet classroom teams and students, tour the building, and begin learning the school’s technology, systems, and routines. You’ll observe classrooms, learn student communication styles and sensory needs, and begin familiarizing yourself with the caseload and documentation systems in a supportive onboarding process.
Qualifications
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- LBS1 required
- Experience with Autism, AAC, SEL, or medically complex students preferred
