Position Overview
- Role: Self-Contained LBS1 Teacher
- Grade Levels: 1st–2nd Grade (building serves K–5)
- Location: Elementary school in McHenry, IL
- Schedule: August 17, 2026 – May 26, 2027
- Hours: 8:45 AM – 4:05 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch), 7 hours/day
- Setting: Onsite
- Pay Rate: $50–$60/hour, based on experience
- Employed through: Spotter

The Classroom
- Self-contained autism program
- 8 current students
- Supported by 3 paraprofessionals
- Related service providers (speech, OT, PT, behavior support) directly connected to the program
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver individualized instruction aligned to IEP goals for students with autism
- Manage and support a classroom team of 3 paraprofessionals
- Collaborate with related service providers to integrate therapy goals into daily instruction
- Implement behavior support strategies and maintain a structured, predictable classroom environment
- Track and document student progress; prepare for and participate in IEP meetings
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and needs
Requirements
- Valid Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement
- Experience in self-contained special education preferred, particularly with autism programming
- Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
