Grade Levels: K–4
Setting: Self-Contained Autism Program
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:20 AM–3:50 PM
Start Date: ASAP
Qualifications for Special Education Teacher candidates include:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate Special Education endorsement
- Experience working with students with autism and/or in a self-contained special education setting preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals, related-service providers, families, and school staff
- Experience with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- A student-centered approach to instruction and behavior support
Hours for Special Education Teacher:
Monday–Friday, 8:20 AM–3:50 PM
Compensation for Special Education Teacher:
$50/hr and up, depending on experience.
Special Education Teacher position details:
- Grade Levels: K–4
- Setting: Self-contained autism program
- Classroom: Lead your own dedicated classroom
- Support Team: Three paraprofessionals assigned to the classroom
- Responsibilities: Classroom instruction, IEP implementation, progress monitoring, collaboration with the student support team, and participation in upcoming re-evaluations
- Start Date: As soon as possible
- Interview Process: Interviews are being scheduled immediately
